Description

The best juicy and crispy whole chicken cooked in the air fryer using simple pantry spices. A no-fail, healthy dinner idea that’s quick and full of flavor.

Ingredients

1 whole chicken (3 ½ to 4 pounds)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon chicken seasoning (or prepared chicken seasoning)

1 teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

¼ teaspoon black pepper

⅙ teaspoon dried thyme leaves

Instructions

1. Ensure the cavity of the chicken is empty and dab the skin dry.

2. Rub the skin with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning.

3. Place the chicken breast-side down into the air fryer basket.

4. Turn the air fryer on to 350°F and cook for 30 minutes.

5. Flip the chicken over and cook for an additional 20–30 minutes or until a thermometer reads 165°F in the thickest part of the thigh.

6. Remove from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Make sure your chicken fits in the air fryer basket before cooking.

Avoid fresh garlic in the seasoning—it can burn.

If the bird touches the heating element, untie or adjust the legs slightly.

Pour drippings over veggies and cook them while the chicken rests.
