Description

A quick and healthy sesame chicken stir-fry with crisp vegetables, tender chicken breast, and a nutty sesame sauce. Perfect for a balanced meal in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

4 chicken breasts, cut into bite-size pieces

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, cut into thin strips

1 large carrot, cut into thin strips

1 small broccoli, cut into bite-size florets

4 tbsp sesame oil (or olive oil)

2 tsp sesame seeds

2 tbsp roasted peanuts (optional)

For the Sauce:

6 tbsp soy sauce (use alcohol-free versions)

4 tbsp Crystal Worcestershire sauce (optional)

1/2 tsp ginger paste or 1/4 tsp ginger powder

1 tsp rice vinegar or white vinegar

1 tbsp honey (or agave or sugar)

1/8 tsp black pepper

1 tsp chili flakes (optional)

1/2 tsp salt, to taste

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients and set aside.

2. Heat a wok or non-stick pan on high with 2 tbsp of sesame oil.

3. Reduce heat to medium, add chicken, and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring every half minute until fully cooked.

4. Transfer chicken to a bowl and set aside.

5. In the same wok, add 1 tbsp sesame oil, then stir-fry onion, bell pepper, carrot, and broccoli for 1 minute until slightly tender but still crisp.

6. Add cooked chicken back to the wok, pour in the sauce, and stir well.

7. Add peanuts if using, then sauté everything together for 2-3 minutes on high.

8. Turn off heat, transfer to a serving dish, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

9. Serve hot with rice or noodles.

Notes

This recipe works well with rice, noodles, or quinoa. You can substitute chicken with beef, shrimp, tofu, or tempeh. For extra heat, try Texas Pete® Original Hot Sauce, Crystal® Hot Sauce, or Sriraja Panich Hot Sauce. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and taste even better the next day.
