Description

Make this juicy air fryer whole chicken with crispy skin using simple pantry spices and minimal prep time. Perfect for family dinners or weekly meal prep.


Ingredients

5-6 lb Whole chicken, giblets removed

2 Tablespoons avocado oil or your favorite cooking oil

1 Tablespoon Kosher Salt

1 teaspoon Freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon Garlic powder

1 teaspoon Paprika (preferably smoked)

½ teaspoon Dried basil

½ teaspoon Dried oregano

½ teaspoon Dried thyme


Instructions

1. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.

2. In a small bowl, mix all seasonings with the oil to make a paste.

3. Brush half the seasoning paste over the breast side of the chicken.

4. Place the chicken breast side down in the air fryer basket.

5. Brush remaining seasoning over the back side.

6. Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 50 minutes.

7. Flip the chicken breast side up and cook for 10 more minutes.

8. Check that internal temperature of breast reaches 165°F (74°C).

9. Remove from air fryer and let rest for 5-10 minutes before carving.

Notes

Cooking times may vary based on air fryer wattage and chicken size.

For best results, pat the chicken dry before seasoning.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
