A customizable Nut Butter & Toast Bar made with whole grain bread, creamy nut or seed butter, fresh fruit, and flavorful toppings for a quick and energizing breakfast.


Ingredients

1 slice whole grain bread such as Dave’s Killer Bread 21 Whole Grains, Arnold Whole Grains Bread, or Pepperidge Farm Whole Grain Bread

1 to 2 tablespoons nut or seed butter

One quarter to one half cup diced, sliced, or mashed fruit

One half to 1 tablespoon chopped nuts

One half to 1 tablespoon dried fruit

One half tablespoon ground flaxseed

1 teaspoon dark mini chocolate chips

Drizzle of honey, agave, or maple syrup

Dash of spices such as cinnamon or nutmeg


Instructions

1. Toast whole grain bread in a toaster or under the broil setting of your oven until golden.

2. Spread nut or seed butter across the warm toast.

3. Top with diced, sliced, or mashed fruit.

4. Add nuts, dried fruit, flaxseed, chocolate chips, a drizzle of syrup, and spices.

5. Enjoy immediately while warm.

Notes

If raspberries become soft, mash them with a fork to create a natural jam like topping.
