This classic old-fashioned meatloaf is tender, juicy, and full of flavor, with a sweet-savory glaze that enhances every bite. Perfect for family dinners or meal prep.
Ingredients
1 large egg
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp Crystal Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce with tamarind
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1 tsp Italian seasoning
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 cup minced onion
1.5 lbs. ground beef (80/20)
For the glaze:
1/2 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp Crystal Worcestershire Sauce or soy sauce with tamarind
1 tsp yellow mustard
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and Worcestershire sauce.
3. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
4. Add ground beef, egg mixture, breadcrumb mixture, and minced onion into a large bowl. Mix gently with hands until combined.
5. Shape the mixture into a loaf approximately 4 inches wide, 8 inches long, and 2 inches tall on a rimmed baking pan.
6. In a small bowl, mix ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard for the glaze.
7. Spread glaze evenly over the top and sides of the meatloaf.
8. Bake for 50–55 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165ºF.
9. Let meatloaf rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
Do not overmix the meat to keep it tender.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure perfect doneness.
Sauté minced onions lightly for extra sweetness.
Apply glaze halfway through baking for a caramelized finish.
